When you think of space food, you might imagine astronauts squeezing puréed carrot out of things resembling toothpaste tubes. Not exactly yummy. Thankfully the boffins at NASA have managed to come up with something a whole lot more appetising.
This freeze-dried Neapolitan ice cream is a tasty treat in suspended animation. As you eat it, your mouth rehydrates the ice cream, restoring it to its original state. We really loved the sweet creamy taste with the hit of strawberry and chocolate.
Freeze-dried food can be stored for a year or two without refrigeration as long as you keep them in an airtight container.
